This 192,000 SF recreational facility features a natatorium, athletic classrooms and a sports complex that doubles as an event center. The aquatics facility has both recreational and competition pools, two waterslides, an outdoor splashpad play area and more. Xypex waterproofing admixture was specified for use in the mix design for the 15,000 SF of pool decks, to provide corrosion resistance to the rebar in the pool decks. The pool area slabs were set sloping to (65) floor drains and (17) trench drains all within close proximity. The 76,000 SF multiuse building includes eight indoor basketball courts that can be converted to 16 volleyball courts or 32 pictleball courts, this slab on grade was completed in 3 pours making a total of 1,070 CY of concrete. The lobby and corridors of this facility included 9,000 SF of polished concrete, done through a sand finish with an acid stain.
