The Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact (KCASI) was a gift to the university from Phil Knight, founder of Nike. Pence Kelly completed the foundations for three pedestrian bridges that connect the center of this facility to the rest of the University of Oregon campus. Structural work for the building and the basement consisted of mat slab foundation and the five levels above are conventionally reinforced elevated slabs. The total concrete poured for this project was over 154,000 SF. From the glass exterior to the thoughtful interior design, the KCASI is truly an innovative icon for research and education.
